It’s been time, for a while, to strip away the frivolous excesses of modern day travel and just get back to basics.
A five star hotel is nice but it’s an indoor bore – too many people, too many rooms, and not enough nature, natural light, sunshine, or sand.
Staycations are cool, too, but it’s the great outdoors that makes us feel more ourselves and more towards our absolute optimum.
A camping trip can make you feel quite wonderful; a beachside vacation can really leave you feeling refreshed. Indoor vacations are not the same medicine, they’re more like a sip of wine – pleasant, but ultimately not that good for us.
It’s water we need. It’s the basics of travel and vacation – sun, sea, and green essentially (or in winter, snow, instead) – as it’s this that makes us feel fulfilled and fills us up to our pleasure-seeking brim.
