Midsummer is one of the largest celebrations in Finland. It is the longest day of the year, and up in the North the sun barely sets and it’s sunrise again. People gather in nature around bonfires, grilling singing and enjoying each other’s company. Taking a sauna and swimming in lakes or in the sea is often part of the celebration. If you visit Finland during this magical time of the year, make sure to bring along mosquito repellent. And if you want to watch the sun rising above the horizon, download a weather app for the exact time of sunrise. You are guaranteed fantastic pictures!
